The Alaska State Employees Association (ASEA) and its parent union, AFSCME, bring decades of organizing and representation experience and a deep commitment to Alaska’s workforce with a strong history of advocating for workers’ rights.

ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 represents over 8,000 public employees in diverse fields, including health, social services, transportation, public safety, natural resource management, and more. From urban hubs to bush and rural communities, ASEA members serve in their communities and play a vital role in making Alaska a great place to live, work, and thrive.

AFSCME, one of the largest unions in the U.S., offers vast resources and support, providing us with the tools and expertise needed to address our specific needs. With ASEA’s local knowledge and AFSCME’s national reach, we’ll have the backing to fight for meaningful changes.
